Sooooooo Sorry...

I haven't Posted.

I totally understand you wanting another blog, you want someone committed. My life took a little detour in commitment I guess. Absolutely no offense taken.

I have to get to work this morning but I wanted to do a quick update and then I'll do a "real" post later today.

I'm doing well and adjusting to being single and a single Mom. I'm happy and just trying to keep up on everything. I have one HUGE problem though...I'm smoking more then I ever have in my life. I'm ready to quit and stay quit this time.

I'm so glad everyone is still smoke free. I'm so proud of everyone.

I'll post again today as soon as I have time.

Hugs to all!

Hi, Tammy great to hear from you, and glad to hear you're doing OK!! We was getting a little concerned.

I don't think you've quite got that right though, no-one said anything about wanting another blog or your commitment to anything. I think we all understand that you hit a bit of a cross road, and you do not need to be that hard on yourself.

You have done all of us a great service in providing the blog, and we have found it to be a source of support and encouragement, so you have absolutely no need to be critical of yourself. Okeys??

I am having to work very hard on my own commitment at the moment - so you are not alone there - i think I may have reached a plateau - I need to stay highly motivated and its hard yakka at the moment.

Speak to youse all later!!!!!!

Hey, Tammy's back! Good to see you. You've created a great little community here, so I was worried when you didn't appear recently. I figured you were going through some tough times right now, and maybe you wanted to be alone. I just want to echo what Jo said -- you've helped a lot of us get through this. And for that, thanks and thanks again

So glad to hear from you Tammy! I am sorry to hear that you are smoking more than ever! That is not good but I guess you are gearing up for the final quit huh? I hope you get so sick of cigarettes and the smell and stink and yuckiness that you just make yourself disgusted with cigarettes!
I'm still quit since new year's eve at 10:30 pm. Surprised myself with this quit and still tell myself one day at a time although the thought of smoking at this stage of the game just doesn't make sense to me. Of course I am human and could have some kind of crisis arise in my life and THINK a cigarette would be the answer. I KNOW that it is not and I'm loving being free of that burden.
Congrats to all who are still quit and I'm pulling for you Tammy!!!!

Are you the 'quit smoking group' that formed on New Years Eve?

If yes, my name is Catherine and my partner's name is Jin. We both gave up at that time and I found the blog sooooo helpful.

I haven't been online for about 2 months.. and there's good news and bad news..

The bad news is Jin is smoking again - he went fishing with a friend, and says he couldn't resist the temptation. The good news is I'm still a non-smoker - it's been ages and I feel so good.
And that's more good news - when Jin wants to quit next time, I can be an inspiration to him - you know, 'if you can do it I can do it' sort of thing.

Congrats to everyone who has joined the world of non-smokers - and to the others - you can do it too....
Breath freely,
Catherine & JIn

I remember Catherine and Jin posting very early in the group's quit history. I think you guys are from Oz too, if I remember rightly.

I was wondering how you had fared - good to hear you are still a quitter Catherine!!, and Jin may get back to it.
I think we've all our moments along the way.

I've stayed smoke free much longer than I ever thought I would, but yeh, I need to be vigilant, because its not long enough into it to become complacent. All he best to everyone for a pleasant day, and fresh smells, and easy breathing!!

There's a person in my office that I don't really dislike, but I'm not too fond of either.

This person is an unrepentant smoker. You know the type? Total disregard for the effects and side effects of their addition.

This addict-in-denial came over to my desk a little while ago to tell me something ... obviously just having been outside for a smoke.

Now, I'm really not a rude person by nature. But I had to bite my tongue real hard because I came "this" close to blurting out, "Wow! You really stink."

True story.

I agree with Fred - since i gave up smoking I cannot believe how strong a smokers smell is - obviously i smelled that strong when i was smoking - but now when my husband has snuck out for one and then comes inside, I am almost overwhelmed by the odour that accompanies him!!

Well it is now Day 78/38 for me - has been touch and go at times, but OK so far!! have a good day all.

Hey, I am here too. Day 101. I feel pretty good. Weather is getting nicer. Having a few spring triggers, but it is not so much as a command, but a "remember when". It sounds kind of corny. Like the old days, remember when? Well, anyways, I agree about the smell. I really notice it. Now, all that time I probably thought I was hiding it. Oh, well, hope everyone is well. Tammy hang in there.

10 Great reasons to switch to the Green Smoke electronic cigarette
July 19th, 2009
Electronic cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular because of the numerous benefits they bring. Here are few benefits that are worth considering.

1. The Green Smoke electric cigarette does not contain 4000+ toxins that are found in tobacco cigarettes. It has no tar, no carbon monoxide and no carcinogens.
2. Smokers can be Green Smoking everywhere, since the Green Smoke e-cigarette doesn’t omit second hand smoke or any offensive smell.
3. Thanks to its unique 2 part design, when using the Green Smoke e-cigarette you get a fresh atomizer in every cartridge. It makes it easy to use, maintain and stay with Green Smoke.
4. Eco friendly- Each Green Smoke cartridge is comparable to 20 cigarettes, yet produces much less waste. It only produces a smoke-like vapor, mostly steam, which is harmless to the ozone layer, as opposed to cigarette smoke which contains a number of chemicals which impact the atmosphere.
5. With the Green Smoke electronic cigarette you can control the nicotine level you smoke. And choose from one of these remarkable flavors: coffee, chocolate, mint, tobacco, vanilla, apple and strawberry.
6. The Green Smoke electric cigarette offers the highest smoke volume in the market. You can test us on this, check reviews. Green Smokers enjoy a real feeling of smoking.
7. No fire and danger of fire, no holes in clothes, no risk of getting burned.
8. The Green Smoke produces vapor and not smoke. It will not leave bad smell in your home or car.
9. Switching to the Green Smoke electric cigarette can save you money. Use our e-cigarette saving calculator to find out how much money you will save by switching.
10. With Green Smoke, not only you could save money, but you could also make money. Green Smoke offers the opportunity to join our affiliate or sales rep program. By referring customers to Green Smoke you will earn 10% – 20% commission.

With so many great reasons, it’s clear why people are flocking to Green Smoke as their smoking alternative.
What to look for when buying an electric cigarette
July 14th, 2009
When looking to buy an electric cigarette, customers are faced with the 3-4 part e-cigarette and the 2 part e-cigarette. There are numerous of disadvantages with 3-4 piece design. First of all refilling is difficult and clumsy. You will have to get your fingers dirty when replacing the cartridges. As the three piece electronic cigarettes use the same filter, it is unhealthy and becomes a store house for bacteria. Over a period of time, the smoke volume decreases, thereby reducing the level of satisfaction. In addition, after some time the atomizer too needs to be replaced which adds on to the hidden cost, which many consumers are not aware of at the time of buying. Furthermore, 3 piece e-cigarettes often come with batteries that are heavier but they do not last as long on each charge. Many end up feeling that e-cigarettes do not work well for them. On the other hand, it is not e-cigarettes that do not work, rather it is the 3 piece design that does not work.

Its great about sharing your thoughts and experience on smoking and to quit it. Smoking cigarettes will cause lot of dangerous side effects for the human. I too smoke a lot and I have suffered by various problems. later my friend advised me to try hypnosis and suggest Thoughts Become Reality - Hypnosis, Stop Smoking. They helped me to quit smoking through the session and hypnotheraphy. I found a good improvement in my confidence and self control. After trying hypnosis I am to stop smoking.

I've been reading a few of the comments in this blog and I'm not really sure why. I can relate to what you are all going through. I tried quitting many times before I made it. I used all the same reasons as I'm reading here....life problems, business, etc. I didn't have the time and energy to focus on quitting. Then, on April 6th, 2006 I had a heart attack. There was no history of cardiac problems in my family, and I thought, of all things, a heart attack is not something I needed to deal with. I was living in Canada at the time, and smokes were $10.00 a pack. I was unemployed, and my wife had left me. It was just me and my best friend, my faithful pal Odie, a 2 yr old pug. Funny thing about this is, I was at my wits end in life, period. 55 years old, living alone in a foreign country and trying desparately to finish repairs on the house so I could sell it, pay the mortgage and go back home. That fateful morning, I was having conversational prayer with God. I said, "God, I know if I could be in a place for 5 days where smoking wasn't an option period, I just know I could quit. I had the heart attack at about 9:30 that night. I was in the hospital for exactly 5 days. They found the artery at the back of my heart had developed 100% blockage, and with tar of all things. They cleaned the artery out as best as possible via angioplasty, and installed a stent. The staff in the Canadian hospital took such wonderful care of me, and they were so helpful knowing I had to quit smoking and were as supportive as you could hope for.

I left that hospital with an entirely different association towards smoking. I used to associate it with taking a break, rewarding myself, and a small pleasure during a relatively pleasureless time in my life. Upon leaving the hospital, I associated it with suicide. I knew that if I was going to ever smoke again, I may as well put a gun to my head and pull the trigger because the results would be identical. I no longer saw smoking as a pleasurable break in my day, but rather a perilous action that put "all the marbles" at stake. From that point on, I realized that it took no effort not to smoke, no concentration, and no sacrifice. All it really took was a sincere desire to live the precious gift of life that God had given me, and to live it the way He intended, for me to breathe pure, fresh air rather than the killing pollution that comes from a lit cigarette. If there is a trick to quitting smoking, I would have to say it is getting yourself to understand and to believe with all your heart and soul that it is literally killing you, and you are not only letting it happen, but you are making it happen.

The other association I made was to associate number of days not smoking with a bank account. Each day was worth $1000. If I so much as took one puff, I'd loose all that I had gained and have to redo the sacrifices I had made to get back to that point again. The more days that had passed, the more I lost if I gave it up. Once I quit for 6 years and wound up going back though. Stupid, huh? Now that I see smoking for what it really is though, I know I'll never start up again.

I hope this helps at least one of you, although I know in my still beating heart that the answer lies in your own individual choice. If you can see smoking for what it really is, you'll have a much better chance of making the right choice.

Good luck,
Jim

Tell me the magic word.
What you say to yourself to stop your addiction which kills you little by little every day . It is a battle within yourself. The demons of the past against the promises of your future.
You look back to your life and see your failures rather than your accomplishments and put yourself in the category of victim. It makes it easier to blame the others instead of you. Of course it is not your DNA or choices brought the failings of your life but anyone else.
Today I refuse to play on that blame culture. I let myself free of the past and not even concentrate on future but deal with today.
After all those years of struggle, finalIy I have a home, a loving one, a husband of eighteen years, two kids (of course one girl and one boy), white picket fence, car and financial security, you name it. Then why I am not happy. Why I have to smoke that bleeming cigarettes to find a relief and pretend it is the answer to my problems even it is only temporary refuge until the next one.
Honesty is a double edge sword. My addiction is not just nicotine which makes me craves more. My real problem is not loving myself, not believing my self-worth and let my self destruction free.
So what do I do? Go and find myself a religion cult to follow and numb my feelings in their false promises of hope. Get some hiypee clothes and pretend to act carefree. Or follow some love guru and do yoga.
I wish the answer was that easy. If it was I would have done it by now and make cigarette companies bankrupt. Then again choosing the words like difficult or struggle makes the problem itself seems bigger than it is. This is not about fighting but acceptance. To accept yourself for what you are. Embrace your life with all pros and cons. Rather than clouding your frame of mind with societies expectations such as materialism and status or putting rose tinted glasses on your perception to falsify the reality of life , try to look into yourself in a natural point of view just as a human being vulnerable to weakness, a body and soul capable of love and dignity.
You do not need to proof yourself to anyone even you. You are not in this world because of your title you are because you choose too. Okay maybe your father and mother decided to have a shag because there was nothing else on TV. Then again it was you who decided to graduate, take a job , find a partner and have a shag or two.
You are here to make a difference not just in the world but within yourself. You are here to love and cherish. You are here to grow with all the warts and all. Happiness is not in the drugs, cigarette or in rock and roll. That’s just a illusion. Happiness is in sharing, giving and taking. In creavity. In learning. In teaching. As human you are a beautiful creature put into this world to solve life puzzle. As body and soul you are capable of contributing to good and fight against evil.
My magic word is love. Love yourself enough to say no to cigarettes or any other addiction which does not only kill your body but destroy your soul.

It's not my invention. It is a Audio Programa that has a lot of researsh that give backgroud to the method. In this method you will train yourselves to relax while reprograming your brain to quit smoking. I really think it is fantastic. I am not specialized in that subject but I think it works. For more information, see the link below:
